Candy is always a good score:) Before Christmas boxes of Turtles were $17.00 so I wouldn't buy any, got 10 boxes after Christmas for $1.25 each - I love Turtles!

Slim pickings at the thrift store today. They seem to think anything vintage is worth its weight in solid gold.

Got this 2008 Kentucky Derby glass

Not sure what I am going to do with this, but thought I'd share.

Large piece, about 30" across. It is a Curtis Jere sculpture, but missing two of the birds. I bought it at a church sale because I liked it even with the missing pieces and felt it was from the 60's, later realized it is a Jere. It kind of "works" in a way with the two round spheres, but is definitely missing birds. If complete would be selling in the $800 range.

Happy Saturday everyone! I went out for a full day of pickin' on Thursday... this month and next, I had/have one day scheduled each month to go an area I never visit in our State and see what I find. I ended up visiting five different thrifts and did OK. I wanted to also note (piggybacking of the comment above), that in general, much of our area is lower income and many folks can't afford higher prices at the thrifts. I have noted that in the past month all the local GW's are putting the antique sets and partial sets of old dishes in the case with sheets from eBay, Replacements and others sites at crazy prices. $79.97 for ONE soup bowl and $69.97 for four saucers - SAUCERS. I paid $140. for a 120 piece set a few months back and they were shocked as people can't afford that here generally. Good luck with the new prices. Thankfully I have tons of inventory (118 sealed boxes alone before the racks upon racks to list). I'll be OK. :shy: GW is supposed to help people. But saucers at $70.00?

I didn't buy anything at GW that day but did find some stuff at other stores. It is hard to see, but I just wanted to share a bigger group photo.

Everything all together cost about $127.00. I should make about $265.00 profit, not bad for a day out.

My favorite three pieces include a Noritake Royal Orchard Souffle - Excellent condition. Paid .25, retailing online for $80.00-100. I'll be happy with half of that.

A nice Belleek cake plate with the red mark and some gorgeous Prov Sace Germany Candleholders with two butterflies on each holder. Someone will love these. On the table, what I found that day included the Kreiss lady, tiki mug, Prov Sace set, vintage beer glass and the belleek (all in front). Everything else is carp I've cleaned for listing - sorry for the mess/confusion. Sorry for the doggie toys in the picture.

I've been slow to list as last week the record collection officially went out the door (1 truck, 2 cars) to its new home and we all had the ice/snow. We are fortunate right now be near 70. It won't last.

    Have a nice day!

What a fantastic piece Lucille! Too bad about the missing pieces but I bet it would still get a good price - what else did you buy?

Funkey, we have a thrift shop that prints out the ebay listings for some of the items they sell..... they still make mistakes and miss stuff. I got a pair of Chanel earrings for $6, they thought they were fake, nope, sold them for $186. The also sold a Hermes scarf from the 70s for $4, gave it to my sister who sold it immediately for $100. I couldn't sleep this morning, so I got up and went to a church sale.... will photograph the finds tomorrow, if the weather lighting outside is good. I still have to take down the Christmas decorations.....but there is an indoor flea market Monday that is calling my name....

So I went to a relatively new thrift a ways north of me that I really like and found a few things, nothing spectacular or valuable I don't think but fun I thought. None shown here but all Christmas was 29cents each so I've some of that as well. Part 1.
I've not researched anything yet so input is welcomed. :)

Your last piece by Boyds was part of a huge line of collectibles from the 1990s. It started with carved duck decoys & went into a line of resin bears, rabbits, moose, snowmen, penguins & more. I am not sure if they are still be produced, but I think there are still collectors out there because the stuff does sell on ebay.

Thanks! I have a soft bear or two to sell and that's why I grabbed this. I will look on there soon. I think the bears are still made.

Nice finds all, and our consignment store also prints out Ebay listings. Got to love it, these are unsold fixed price listings. If anything it proves that the items aren't worth the listed price or they would be sold.

@KingofThings I don't have the issue with the rotating photos. I've never had it happen on this site. But if memory serves, I made some change at some point to photo hosting, this was years ago and suddenly had the same problem when posting on Ebay. When I changed to Irvanview the problem went away. It was aggravating for sure.
