@ Funkey, nice finds and I love the gator and specimen collection.

Here is a small group of Chinese Republic (1910 - 1949) Period figures in monochrome yellow , blanc-de-chine and robin's-egg glaze.

Also, a partial group of Chinese Yixing fruits & nuts........probably from the 1960s/70s.

It appears "size"(?) matters when it comes to these pieces...

This one http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/...0925&sid=e5a45da3-2ea3-43a5-bd97-f315169d486b sold for $13K+, has an applied cicada and sits at approx. 12 inches.

The Bonhams piece is the most comparable I've found so far as far as similar decoration -- applied leaves, vines, gilt, insects and lacquer -- but sits over 12 inches.

Mine has very similar decoration but only sits at 5 inches and has some slight bronze loss at the shoulder. Because of these disadvantages (small size and slight damage) compared to the other two, is why I was thinking or wondering about an "asking price" of $5K. BUT, one thing I did also notice regarding size........... mine is the only one I've been able to locate so far in such a small size. I wonder IF this makes it much more "rare" than most?

 

I love the shape, detail and colors on yours. I know nothing about them, but if I see that in yours, wouldn't someone else?

You and Terry both bring up excellent points. My piece does appear to be a better, much more detailed example than the two linked pieces. But what scares me about asking a $5K price or much higher is the size. If I'm not mistaken, I can only price this thing based on comparables and prices realized on those comparables found.

That looks to be in very good condition! I would have thought pottery barn and put it right back down probably. Very neat detail! The little blue dogs are adorable!

These were $25 including the stands.

The first is an 18th C. Chinese export. I'm not exactly sure of the age and origin of the second piece. The porcelain is eggshell thin and the full name: 'ANNA B. F?????' is marked on base.

 

Love the tea bowl and saucer. Look to be in super shape. You don't show how Anna B F is written, but perhaps hobbyist decorated -- floral border looks like forget-me-nots.

 

I don't know about their use in tea sets, but forget-me-nots were often used in postcards in the early 1900s.

 

It's been slim around here. Drove many miles today with only one purchase.

This lot was $5.00. The broken gold necklace is 14K Italy, the mistletoe pin Danish, the rest Mexican 925.

 

Nuff said, I did see the fly. I saw so many details on your piece that were lacking on the others.

Both cups & saucers are in near mint condition with only a few flea bites at the rims. I too was thinking Anna is the decorator's name and not a maker.

Here's another small detail that the craftsman has added......





The adding of different shape and sized small punch marks to each leaf giving it an effect as if the insects were nibbling on them. This attention to detail is not found on the $8K+ linked piece and IMO shows top level workmanship. This attention to detail and workmanship also applies to each insect (fly, bee and dragonfly) as well.
