Not a clue on the pottery, Greg. Sorry. [IMG]
Gotta love the jellyfish. It's new, but even better in person. The ship is on what looks like Alaska souvenir whale tooth. The Mercedes keychain is sterling. And yes, I did actually buy the Brooklyn Bridge. It's a gag gift for a friend.

The cat and the hat? The hat that looks like my friend's cat? White fox I think, and two vintage coral necklaces. The one with the crystals and fake pearls is Vendome, a Coro line if memory serves.

A couple of freebies today. I never met a glass I didn't like and the little blue & white saucer is new, but blends in with the old ones plus it's Stratford!

I paid a few bucks for the salt at the Antique Show yesterday. It was the only one there. I have a set of six (8?) a bunch - of coasters that match that I got free. Sterling spoon came with it. The salt says Frank W. Whiting Sterling Pat. Pending

Yesterday was definitely one of my "I buy weird s**t" days. I'm getting a T shirt made up with that I think!

Love the camera. I'm not sure if it has any useful life left even if you can find film to fit, but it's kooky enough to be cool. ..and what the heck you're going to do with an ash tray on a stand...? It's a neat design though, and probably cheap as chips because no one else knows what to do with it either.(LOL) I might pop the top out and make a planter of it.

The camera is actually a lighter, would you believe! Someone will like the ashtray: for three dollars it's a bit of funky fun. That whole ironic retro meme. ;)

Isn't that camera a little novelty lighter? I had one just like it with a long push-button cord extension that screwed into the top ... sold it for parts since the cord didn't work.

Edited to add: ha ha too slow again!

Either way; it's worth more for the design than any utility these days. (She says, having just written up a Dunhill table lighter)

Out-of-the-box thinking for using the stand ashtray -- always have a large bag of roasted still-in-the-shell peanuts. Put the discarded shells in the ashtray. The clanging/clicking each time the knob is depressed might get some people in a tizzy but . . . the aroma of roasted peanuts available for eating should calm such people down a bit.

Hey, weird buying and weird usage go hand in hand, do they not?

On the subject of cameras... Bought this 1970's Cambo camera with flash in the carry case (with plugs and all) for about 15USD.

Any ideas if the case is a handmade thing or where they were sold? Could find lots of info on the camera but nothing on the case.

    Thanks in advance!

Here are two of my three (the other being an OXO jar opener) finds this weekend.

First is a piece of cloth (synthetic with a slightly silky feel but stiffer) with a scene painted on it and a gold painted line around all four edges. It measures 6" x 6-1/4" unfolded. It shows "Belgique 1945" in one corner.

Second is a book cover for The Book of Exotic Birds-- it is missing the bird prints which were (at some point in time) inside. The first photo is of the cover. The second photo is of the title page. There were a few loose pages still in it, but I intend to place it on my secretary to hold stationery and/or correspondence.
