Just going through some of the more recent finds. Very nice.
I have the same fish plaques here. I have other sets as well by Miller Studios too. Am debating if it is time to let them go to a new home or if I want to hold onto them longer.

I think the last time I found one, was actually a mermaid and it stuck with me cause I bought a pin and the lady changed her mind about selling it...?ok (Kramer) nothing special, So I bought the mermaid for I think 2 or 3 dollars and sold it for 50 so touche on the pin. She was worried about the pins value...

The mermaid items tend to sell well. Most are really adorable.
Also the vintage lucite Seahorses are still selling, though at a much lower value.
I noticed on Mad Men, Joan had a few of those seahorses on her wall.

Went to a yard sale in an upscale neighborhood near my home here in Jersey and picked-up some pretty good items for cheap. If I told you guys what I paid for these items you all would swear I was BS'ing. All I'll say is one of the items below was a whole $3. :D

A pair of *I think* Mid-Century glass paperweights(?) marked: Salviati Venezia. (not 100% sure about this dating or what these items were used for)

First half of the 20th C. sterling silver bell by: Tiffany & Co.

    Mid-Century bakelite trophy.

Two vintage 1980s ladies Gucci watches.

A man's 1970s 18K heavy gold plated (that's what it says) Bulova Accutron watch presented to a professional sports player (presentation info engraved verso). The wood presentation box is not original to the watch and is something we had in stoke. Haven't decided yet if we're going to keep or re-sell this watch.

I have a few more glass pieces also from this same neighborhood that I'll post in a bit after researching.

My bad, Bear! Most of you know I know next to nothing when it comes to glass. I ONLY purchased the lady's lot because she was selling them so cheap. I had no idea what or who they were by until I got home and started Googling. ;)

Ok, I would just like to make a correction... the sterling bell isn't made by Tiffany & Co. I assumed so because of this same exact design and form: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Monogrammed...816?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c9b1e89a0

The bell is actually made by the: Thomae Company of Attleboro, Mass. as per the monogramed hallmark on the clapper.

Also, after a bit of researching, those glass pieces above do appear to be paperweights and made/designed by this dude: 'Luciano Gaspari (Italy, 1913 - 2007)' for Murano. The small glass sphere (minus the wood base) I believe is his work as well???. The other pieces below I believe are ancient(?) glass shards.

Very nice indeed for a man who doesn't do glass. ;)

Those shards are, I think, cullet, that has been embedded with semi precious stones. Like.

    Hi,
They are cullet and quite lovely. I saw a show several years back that had "paint cullet" from an automotive manufacturer. There were hundreds of layers of different car paint colors that someone was making into jewelery. I went glass digging at an factory and had several large hucks of colored glass to make rock decorations for my garden. I always wanted a Vaseline (canary) colored hunk or slab never got one. Sold the ones from my garden when I moved to NYC. One of the things I really rue.

 Excuse you! It's wo-man... :p No, but seriously, my DH and I very rarely purchase any antique/vintage glass (as you can tell...ancient glass :hilarious:) or antique/vintage furniture, so to hit a lick on what appears to be "rare" paperweights my this Italian maker is very cool. Thanks for helping ID those glass shards. I would not have guessed cullet if someone paid me to....so thank you!

The 1970s watch is the true find of the day though. Fished around the net and couldn't find many that have come onto the market presented to professional sports athletes. Found the linked one below that sold very well at auction last year and that particular player isn't half as good or well known as the player our watch was presented to. We'll most likely have to obtain a L.O.A., but we're 100% sure the watch is what we think it is.

Bear, Greg and other collectors who know a hell-of-a-lot more about glass than I ever will. I *think* I figured out who, what and where made that glass "sphere" and those cullet shards....

'The Akro Agate Marble Company of Clarksburg, WV.'

That darn sphere ain't no sphere (well it is, but...) it's an old Akro Agate marble and those shards are cullets from that marble company. Someone please prove me wrong! Am I? Any marble collectors in the house?
