Hahaa they maaay have been in the new items bin, so yes. Although I've hit critical mass on purse hording so I ran them by the husband who said "Those are really interesting looking!" so I was saved lol.

I want most of what you score, so that's fair. :joyful:
    Thank you!

These are so small they're liable to wander and slide between other things I bet! I have some vintage pieces on display in the library so I'm going to have to figure something out if I do that with these. I know people frame them, but i like seeing the backs.

Age wise I am not that far behind you & oh how I kind of miss the 80’s! I have known many potheads back then & currently now. Some are high functioning, some use for pain, some are just well lazy potheads their words not mine. It unfortunately, does interfere with many meds & that is always a factor especially with mental health. No Johnny you were not shallow it was the era of “pretty people”. Eventually, we all grew up & realized pretty people are not all pretty on the inside, and learned the heart & soul of someone is what matters. I agree something triggered this gentlemen & I am oh so curious about him. Like last years war love letters! Thank you @daveydempsey for sharing such a character. You most certainly got my mind thinking.

I will go to my grave missing the 80s ! it was just a perfect time for me. I was young, easy on the eyes,in the best relationship of my entire life and just so darn happy . I loved the clothes and music and people were just so different then. Yes,terrible things were going on as well but in my little world it was all nigh perfect.

I was an adult for half of the 80s, but can't say I miss anything but the music and some of the cars. And the people. I knew a bunch of WWII veterans who were still around then.

Fell into the Depression Glass honey hole, a lot of green Hazel Atlas Florentine. If it were any other color I probably would have skipped it, but it's uranium green and that is selling very well right now :)

Two large bins full once I packed it up, this is the photo they sent me before I went to see it in person:
    GreenFlorentine.jpg

Cleaned it all and separated out the ones with damage. A few with bad chips to toss, a good size box full with minor chips or scratches that will go to the Swap Shop at our Transfer Station. Lots left over in great condition for me to sell :)

Some good pieces in there that I didn't see clearly in the photo: a pair of candlesticks (I only see 1), a large water pitcher, a covered butter dish, 2 covered oval vegetable dishes and 6 tumblers. Plus they threw in some Indiana Glass Pineapple and Floral pieces for free. A good day all around.

Not sure if this is an Inuit carving or not. 10 inches tall and very heavy. It is not soap stone, but more like basalt or something even harder. What say the experts here.

Doesn't look Inuit to me but maybe could be. Doesn't look Shona to me but maybe could be.

Where / how'd you get it?

Start a thread on the Tribal forum @Wheeble. You'll get better eyes there.

Here also, at every show or flea market I do there is at least 1 person with a black light flashlight checking my glass and costume jewelry!

How stupid do I feel giving away a whole box of depression glass when we moved ?!?! I genuinely thought the market had bottomed . UGH.

I recently watched a declutter yt video (as background noise) and the young woman helping her mother said (paraphrasing) "She said this is depression glass... Does anyone know if this is worth anything? Mom says it is but i want to check if we can get rid of it." Of course it was green and a very pretty plate. I laughed.

I found a piece of neodymium glass today...chipped. (wahhhhh) If it's still there on Tuesday I am buy it anyway; it was a small chip and I like neodymium glass. It changes color depending on the light source.

I can't tell you how many times I've had people stop at my booth at the flea market and say "When my parents died we put all this kind of stuff in the dumpster."! Sometimes they are talking about the glass, sometimes costume jewelry :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
