Picked these up here on ebay for a couple of bucks. Bottom left one is 10k gold
Lambda Chi Alpha frat pin with a gamma sigma guard. Bottom right is 10 or 12k. The crescent & scimitar pin is sterling. It amazes me that some people don't check to see if things are gold before they sell them. The frat pin is clearly marked as is the sterling one.

I picked this wall art up, 26" x 30" - might hang around here for awhile, I like owls. Not sure what the next item is, maybe for mail or toast - soaking the base to get the felt off to see if there is a mark, nice Imperial stretch glass bowl, the mark was used until the late 1920s.

Owls are "in" right now, at least in terms of jewelry.

That is an interesting holder. Is it as heavy as it looks? (It looks like stone or brick-like from here).

 

I had a thing for owls for a while when I was a teenager. Not the real ones, but the cute non-real ones. I don't think I have anything left of my mini-collection, though.

Been on vacation out West and was able to find a few items. Most are Chinese.

Small turquoise glazed vase incised with fruiting peaches, pomegranates and finger citrons.



These I thought were Chinese at first glance, but after getting them home and taking them apart, they are marked Rookwood, from 1928, with the original Rookwood label and price of $12.



Not a true pair of Republic Period coral red hat stands or vases.



This is the LARGEST porcelain teacaddy I've ever seen. All hand-painted.

Chinese incised Yixing vase with glazed white interior and Cultural Revolution Period cinnabar vase. I also picked up 5 Yixing teapots that I will post later.

 

19th C. Canton export armorial dish or bowl for the Portuguese market, early 20th C. cloisonné jardinière and a vintage Yixing teapot.

 

Great score on the Rookwood lamps(?). And I love the little yellow water pot -- the applied flowers are so sweet!

 

I love the yellow water pot, too. It would look great in my kitchen!

TDCat, yes it is heavy. I finally got the felt off the bottom but no mark.

Hi,
That tigerseye censer has me in a swoon. I had a 6" tigerseye brush pot but it eloped with a stranger that visited me when I was not home. One of the most amazing sites I saw was in India. A friend took me to waterfall swimming spot that was littered with large tigerseye boulders.

Well, I don't normally spend much on pottery, but I made an exception today. The question is whether it's the real McCoy - or should I say "real" Van Briggle?



I'm going to start a thread about it with more pictures to get feedback.

 

I have one just like it, and I got it at the pottery back in the late 1980s.
Can't tell you how old yours is though.
