The bottom looks old, but the hardware all looks modern. 'Tis a puzzlement.

The hardware looks consistent (to my eye) with others similar found on the internet.

I’d have said a Sorrento inlay and Florentine leather.

Ditto. A lovely writing slope. More ott than most, but in a charming Sorrento way. I would probably keep it too, I don't mind the odd ott piece.:playful:

From the current clearance I took out more Mercedes parts, lots of hanging brass pierced lamps and some mantle clocks.

Before I commenced work at this property, the gas and water had been turned off and the electricity had been condemned and isolated as it was a danger.

The deceased had been cultivating marijuana and had bypassed the electric meter with his own wiring for his grow in the attic.

He had hooked up lots of Arabic lamps with Egyptian and German non earthed non fused wiring to the UK wiring, he had used tape to join the cable, bear in mind UK electrical wiring and supply is 240V with earth.

Someone who gave a quote after me had switched the electricity back on and smashed the mains switch.:eek:

I had to get my son out to make the electricity safe before I could remove any wired in electric lighting.

He said to me, it's a wonder the guy didn't electrocute himself or burn the property down.

Anyhow, here's today's haul and a pic of the circuit board.

I forgot to mention the guy had stolen a street sign from his home city of Düsseldorf and left it in his attic

It's quite a substantial weight and would have needed two people and ladders to remove it

That moorish domed hanging lamp (lower just right of center in second pic) is killer. The two at top left in the same pic are pretty sweet as well.

Some of the used parts are from this car parked in Germany.

Whoever gets those will be one happy camper. The electrician who has to fix the house will be too... if he/she charges by the hour!

I will lay odds that there will be no "fixing" this place. With everything Davey has told us about this place, it will likely have to be demolished.

I see some very profitable future boot sales in the spring. ;):smuggrin:

My son & I were just speaking about this. A few years ago I was visiting him for a ball & promotion ceremony & I had an emergency with with my eye. He took us to the ER & they had all of my meds listed & my allergies which was actually impressive & helpful as I had to take my contacts out. My son read off my meds & allergies & said I didn’t know you are allergic to latex. He had just developed an allergy to latex. That was at Keiser. Nice hospital if we can say a hospital is nice that is.
