Scored 4 drawers today, all dated 1898-1904 and are stamped Frankford Arsenal U.S. They have other writing on them as well, one stating "leg irons" :O 20240825_100635.jpg

Fake leg irons etc turn up regularly. I can't ever recall seeing a single box the real deal came in, and there's no way those could be faked. WOOT!

I went to an estate Friday. Was number 13. There was over a hundred in line behind me. It was an old dealer's stuff. Mostly the problem, unsellable stuff. I spent $100 and regretted most of it when I got home and saw the true condition. Spent twenty minutes or so and had to get out of the cluster.

Saturday I was riding around looking for garage sales and got in the same neighborhood. Stopped in the same sale. 25% off day. Took more time and dug more. Found part of a gold filled pocket watch case and chain for $1, Found half a gold filled hinged bracelet on the floor.
Out in garage found these old bank deposit envelopes clearly mark in a box of junk that was a dollar choice.

There had been hundreds of people through there in the previous 24 hours.

On my way picking up packing peanuts, I ran across a consignment store I didn't know was there. This is a beautiful sculpture by Chris Aningayou, a famous artist out of Nome Alaska. Made of whale bone, baleen, ivory, and hair. This will be gracing my personal collection. It is 11" tall, I love the egg in the base. Yaaahhoooo!
My miniature collection is coming along nicely.
