Nuff, I've always enjoyed your posts, always will. I've learned a lot from you and so many others through these finds threads and other posts. I don't get on here as often as others do so I don't always know what was said in the past. I'm sorry to hear that. I don't feel that way and just wanted to say so.

"Don't start missy..." are you kidding me?
Let me say it again, I am not a ring leader.
I am not trying to run anyone off.

Then why start nasty fb posts and trash people not nice
You chose to leave the page open, I don't know who started it but you got pretty graphic until you were exposed and made sure anyone about to dog some knew your site was revealed ....shame

I see your always welcoming newby's, how about treating regulars with some respect...then people wonder why people lay back, it can be very intimidating

Wendy while we have been cordial to each other for many years uhum until I spoke up, then yo offered to buy something from me here:eek:
My thoughts turn to is she mean enough to affect my sales...?
I remember a little lady years ago chris&chris you attacked, she was new remember with a pool of lights...she learned fast and was sweet and found a honey hole of jewelry from a scrapper who only wanted precious metals. She was buying bag after bag of fabulous jewelry. The girls went crazy happy for her especially the pol. But there were some sour grapes, booom you attacked her on a question....never left my mind. Exactly what Nuff speaks of some people can't handle finds of others. The comment of how you feel like the older you get the meaner you get, is scary and the fact that the talk there is so negative, not what I want to express or be

Thanks Mill, much appreciated. Hopefully, one day, we can all get back to each one teach one (how it use to be) where we ALL learned from each others experience. Unfortunately, I *think* those days may be long gone, too much bad blood has been spilled.

Sharona, I think the best thing to do is just let it be. Some of these folks are just set in their ways and will never change no matter how much one tries to expose their hatred or whatever,...they are who they are and it is what it is. Remember, we aren't talking about teenagers here, but middle-aged and older folks.

    Anyway, moving on........

agreed the tea pot was blowing off some steam. Anyone who condones mean spirited behavior....if your proud of it, you shouldn't be. it is what is wrong with our cyber world and hope we could conduct ourselves with some kind of dignity here, can always hope... and yes on to what I ever came here for to talk antiques

okay here is a find from awhile ago in my personal collection of studio pottery. Signed Dike for Phil Dike fairly well listed painter. His pottery is very rare, so I have no idea of value. Purchased with no intent to sell (lol rare for me) Dike1.JPG

Very nice, Trip! Below are two we've had for a while and do have plans to sell. Chinese Yuan (1271 - 1368) Dynasty Junyao waterpot and an 18th/19th C. wooden stand. Not sure what type of wood it's constructed of, but here's a similar type stand (different wood): http://english.cguardian.com/categories/pwf/2013-11-29/103909.html

I know, crazy right? Believe it or not, this was one of my very first Asian finds (the stand) and I had no idea at the time it was Asian or used as a Chinese stand up until a year or so ago. Got it for a $1 or less and thought it just a nice piece of old wood when found at a flea here in Jersey.

Yes, the same here, love learning something new. Now if I run across a piece signed Dike or Phil Dike I'll know exactly what and who it's by. ;)

    Nice finds folks!
MMS, that fellow in your photo looks so young.
Nuff that piece of wood reminds me of the burl pieces we see up here, used to be everyone had a table or clock made out of them.
Trip, that pottery is very cool!
I found a few goodies - rather large Veritas oil lamp that has been converted, almost 20" in height, a Keyless Auto Clock Co rim Wind car clock, Schatz clock and barometer, clock face has cracks and this piece that I started a thread about as I'm not sure if this is a compass or what.

Oh my, cxgirl, love the Veritas! If that cranberry shade is open on the top, it may be original - 1880s. From Thuro's Oil Lamps II, Foreign Lamps section, p. 135. "Falk, Stadelmann & Co. were English manufacturers who made the famous 'Veritas' lamps."

Veritas info under "New Lamps Designs," 1st paragraph:

Thanks for the links Susan! I saw the last one, was quite amazed to see another of these lamps. Yes, open top of the shade, and after seeing the other one I believe it is original to the lamp.
