I just louped it. It looks like nicks under the stone. Citrine scratches easily, too. Next time I go to Cape May, I'll take it to my estate jeweler. Could be a fabulous fake.

Flea market first stop, got the 3 prs of earrings and the Mott wing silver pendant. The 9ct enamel clams are damaged, looks as if someone has tried to paint the enamel but for £3 I had to have them, nice old box too. Then on to Charity shops, the costume butterfly I had looked at a week or so ago, duh, but yesterday I had a closer look at the chain, 9ct, weighs in at 7grams, £1.50. The next shop gave me the amethyst beads for £1. And I got a men’s Levi jacket for £5.

Still raining, still sorting and tagging jewelry. Putting things away....here are some purses. There were some 75% off sales at my local antique mall. The black purses were $5 each. Tashi and Dommie (Domino) are helping me sort and tag.

My brother is the most not-a-cat person ever, and he loves Dommie. Calls him Bootsy.

There was a small neighborhood sale that didn't sound too great, run by a realtor, so just took my time and went over about 1.5 hours after opening just to have something to do. 5 sales total, the first 4 had kids stuff only, so was thinking of heading home, but thought I'd check the last sale.

You never see antiques any more at sales here and this sale was full of them for low prices. All I can think of was that all my competitors showed up 30 minutes before opening, this sale wasn't set up yet, so by being 1.5 hours late I was the only shopper. Just a fraction of my take. Everything here was $1-5. Not shown is the sterling money clip ($1), the 64" Tiffany museum scarf with original tags ($1), the giant metal vintage stop sign (free) and more.

The little piano was $5, everything else $1.

Lucille got the big pile of the week! WOOT! Fire saled too. My guess is the realtor just had to make it all leave. I'd have made off with the A&P calendar too. Not to mention everything else.

The charity shop looked at the butterfly but didn't even see the chain. Oops - I love being on the buying end of that particular mistake. The amethysts are wonderful; you never see faceted beads here. They're always dyed or grade Z round beads.

The sale wasn't just fun, it was surreal.

Everything was set up beautifully, like a store. I almost wondered if the owner used to resell, nothing was marked, but when you inquired they answered with giveaway prices. The first thing I saw at the entrance was a plate full of freshly baked almond croissants on a beautiful serving dish. I assumed they were for sale (?). Kids try to get $2 now at lemonade stands, so walked by the croissants without pausing.

Making a small pile, I overheard someone asking about the croissants, "Oh those? They are free for shoppers." A bowl of freshly washed green grapes next to it. It was like some kind of fantasy (especially after my low expectations.) I got that antique piano for $5, then picked up the sterling money clip, and they owners said, "Oh that can be included in the $5". They were asking such little money that I actually watched not one, but two buyers ROUND UP what they were charged. This was not an elderly couple, I think they just wanted to declutter.

Still, had to pinch myself a couple of times.
