Great buy on that slot machine. I rarely see any of that vintage go for less than $350.00 in any condition.

I probably would not have looked twice at that Jonah and the Whale sculpture in a thrift store. Good thing to know about!

It is a combination of lack of time and lack of interest in certain things. While I do check in here regularly, I only have so much time in a day to spend here. I always check Antiques, Art, and PGP. If I have time I will look at the general category threads, and a few of the others. There are a couple categories I rarely poke my head in to.

Unfortunately, some of my time in the day is taken up by earning some money. I also check in to other sites I participate in groups at. It is all about priorities. Therefore, I can see why people might post something in the finds thread and start a different thread elsewhere.

Sure Brad, I get that .....but when I log in I check ' watched threads ' , those that I'm already interested in....and ' new posts ' to see what's up that I may be interested in....from any board.
That way I'm covered , but it doesn't mean that I have to open every thread & read every post !
If I have the time I'll open threads to see if they may be interesting or if there's stuff I can add to the thread.

To me, it sure saves time , and shows me at a glance where discussions are on going ...

Love the ivy vase. Your fan design looks similar to a couple of fans I received from a So. Korean who came to my late DH's work place setting up the Olympics after the 84 we had in LA.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Yes, I always think that the main purpose of this thread is to show things off, and not to have extended conversations that get buried within the whole... I like when new threads are created for things that people actually are asking questions about.

I sure like seeing everyone's finds!

In my current quest for interesting baskets I found this one which I believe is Belarus straw casket.

Neat basket SIS! never seen one like that
Brad I understand your your schedule is tight but I think everyone always loved your finds! I think many of us work/...I still babysit/work nights and weekends but can check in during many days when I'm off or babysitting/lol
Actually I have to fight them for the puter. Just saying we do like them when you can

Anyway this has been the most fun the suspense of a new find. I rarely shop from Nov till it's warm, usually April, but man that's tuff, I know it's the same for some others
I am currently digging in a box of jewelry and in HEAVEN
I planned the day so no one would be bothering me whilst I pilfer lol
Actually while I was leaving for lunch with the kids I saw the mail truck heading to my house, I just knew it was in the truck lol so did my kid duty and daughter duty till now. But wasn't positive, but my neighbor has been waitin on a check from my boss and called to tell me he got and said the mail man left me a surprise. They watch the house like a hawk. So all day I waited till they were all gone to open the box
So excuse my excitement of a new find.....
Any I'm here but burried in jewelry

When I was a kid, the father of my best friend could make baskets like that. For years, we had one he made. (No idea what happened to it.) He was Hungarian.

(He made it when our families were on vacation together. It didn't take him long at all.)

Adrian - I'd have jumped on that too. I went to an estate sale this morning in near-zero temperatures. Might as well not have bothered. They claimed they'd have jewelry in the ad ... they had one piece of overpriced craft show jewelry worth about 10% of what they had it marked. Looks like you made out better.
