Slowly recovering from cataract surgery, more than anything, I am fatigued and having trouble with depth perception. Hubby took me to a few thrifts and one antique mall yesterday.
There are two sister thrift shops here that are lazy and price almost all necklaces at $8. It was on my second look around, turning around a necklace rack, that I found this sterling and citrine necklace.

    Nice strong heavy construction.
Then, though $48 was a bit pricey for me, this chyroprase, marcasite, and enamel necklace. It was love at first sight, Happy New Years to me, and I have vintage chyroprase earrings that will match.

Found this cute little guy yesterday. He was labeled 'alien,' but is apparently an 'alebrije' --a folk art with an interesting history from the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. Too cute not to share.

Today I went to an antique store and sold a pile of gotta-gos. Came home with a little baggie of pearls from a scrapped bracelet. Went into an Ill Will nearby and found ... a clean bathroom. Only useful thing there.

I wish we had an antique store around here so I can do that too Ruth. They are all
    gone.

There are a few here, but only one is still really buying and he buys mostly jewelry and some signed glass.

You will have zero trouble selling that Featherweight! The bags ... will do well if you can out-tussle Bear for them.

    I found some goodies recently.
A 14k leaf pin was hiding in a basket of costume jewelry for $3.99

And here's a sparkly 14k white gold and pave diamond ring priced at $8.00. Seller must have thought it was costume.

    And a Wedgwood Jasperware jug/pitcher dated 1879 for $14.
It is 8" high. The spout is slightly chipped, but I don't care!

I find people miss plain 14k gold brooches and ones with pearls a lot.
