@KSW - I'd get a loupe on the mesh, they can have teeny weeny silver marks on a ring. I've one very similar, hallmarked 1910 from memory. Your black bag is Indian bullion work, still made, but that looks older.

That box looks like a Ruskin cabouchon to me, early 20th.

@Marko - I've done that! Blokes with a few bits of bling. I'd keep ALL those clips.

    Oops.

Feeding the addiction to Scottish style brooches again. Also, a Whitefriars bowl in a colour which by some miracle, I don't have! Five quid and one quid. And a Tennesmed pendant.

I've had the brand before; it's lovely stuff. That Whitefriars bowl is really pretty; we NEVER get a piece of that here. Did see my first bit of Moorcroft in a shop recently. At $250 it stayed there, but odds are not for long.

I'm a tad obssessed with Whitefriars. It's even more local than my Doulton Lambeth addiction and I love the stuff. A long and fascinating history. One day, I'll find an early bit....

One day I'll find ANY bit. Canadians may see it but Americans never do. Another name to look for is Fire and Light; they made recycled glass. Closed now, but collectors can be rabid.

A recent find at an out-of-the-way little auction house, a late 19th Matsu no ke vase with a pink interior and a vaseline glass outer which glows green under UV. The market still hasn't recovered from the big drop in the early 2000's on this kind of item, they are about half what I used to be able to get for them 20 years ago.

Nothing particularly fantastic, but I picked up for cheap a nice little Mersman console table in beautiful condition. I'm thinking it's from sometime in the second half of the 20th century. It will fit in my designated space perfectly so I'm very happy!

@Ce BCA, THAT is GORGEOUS!!!!! Mom had one just like that.....of course at the time, we didn't know much of anything about it (but naturally I'm sure the dealer did!!!)....and it went with the rest of her collection of rose bowls!

Nice little table! And Johnny found the scrap silver for the day. Me, I went to the Ill Will and found a way to waste time. OTOH I went to the supermarket and thanks to Fetch got free ice cream. Hard to argue with free Klondike!

I was able to go through a house before the sale, got a few goodies:) My favourite is the #3 Griswold skillet without the heat ring, such a sweet little piece that I'm tempted to keep, a 'Birchbark Bitings' piece by Half-moon Woman AKA Pat Bruderer, a Glasbake set in original box, looks unused, a sterling Georg Jensen bowl in need of polishing, 2 pieces of jewelry, rhinestone butterly and a little frog brooch missing the pin part - I think it is pewter but need to do some research on it, and a postal scale with all the weights:)

NICE! That sterling bowl is a score! (the froggie is random metal; I don't recognize that mark at all.)

Hit an estate sale today in the last few hours today. It's open again tomorrow. I didn't even know it was going on. Spent $20 and got gold-filled reading glasses, some jewelry and a goshawful pile of of those advertising pinbacks. Some are new and local, some are WWI and two are WWI. Makes me wonder what was there first thing. Oh well.
