A Guessing Game that I'm sure @Ownedbybear will know the answer to (but she won't tell.) It is three inches in diameter and is chrome and brass. I'll do the reveal when someone guesses the right answer. The Supreme Award Winner 1988/89 Best New British Made Product.

That's a later May Co. logo according to this. Somewhere between the 1950s and 1970s.

It would seem as though there are several folks here who feel that way.......
    but....
there are also several folks here that think otherwise...........

so, I'm OK with the occasional........

And, a story. One dealer makes fairly often mistakes. She had 4 rows of costume rings in her case, so I asked to look at all of them. One really caught my eye. It was dirty, and she tried to clean it with toothpaste and it was gunked up with that, but the stone sparkled like my diamonds. I could tell it was a gold ring by the setting, wear, weight, and tone, and it was only $6, what the heck. I couldn't wait to get it home to test the stone. Sadly, it came up glass, but I remembered what mforjan told me once, clean the stone and retest. It came up in the tourmaline section, and cleaned up, it really sparkled. Acid tested as 10k, researched tourmaline and it is white tourmaline, achroite. Higher quality can sparkle like a diamond, this picture does not do the stone justice. AND IT FITS!!!!

Wow! Such great finds. I have a multi strand rice pearl necklace that belonged to my grandmother. I ran across it last week and thought I needed to research so I knew what it was called.

Thanks, guys. I do have a few glass finds, but I don't know my glass so I shy away from it. I manage to find a chip or crack when I get home, I drop it, or it's a reproduction. My husband is urging me to stay home for awhile because of the expected post-holiday Covid-19 surge.... we are already experiencing it here. I can't argue with that. I am going to sort through some doll finds today and catalog them, clean up a few dollies today and tomorrow. I will photograph some for you. '

I love all pearls and can't resist them; they are one of my birthstones, and I do wear them. I think of them as gifts from the sea. The rice pearls were popular in the 80s and 90s, but I can't resist them, especially when they are cheaper for entire strands than just the single 14k clasps attached.

Happy New Year, you guys rock!

Nice! Six bucks for a gold ring with a white garnet! I'd be wearing that too. Pearls aren't my personal "thing" but at those prices they would be.

My find of the day didn't make it home. I got marked 18k bracelet with pearls, at least at a charity thrift (with crazy high prices on some things) for $60 and took it straight off to an antique dealer with that silver vase and some other stuff. The bracelet was legit 18k beads and chain, and paid out at about $420. Not bad! I got the pearls to take home and mess with. The bracelet wasn't signed, just marked, and the design was no loss to anyone.
