The way the backs are made are saying later to me, but ... they're vintage for sure and for three bucks it's hard to miss. Some dog-crazy person would buy them if you sell them. Dog owners who have a "breed" would be all over them.

I'm more the cat type. Any old cat will do - moggie to snow leopard.

 

I picked up this Peugeot Freres #302 wall mount coffee grinder I see some that say this is 1955, but I found a poster with different grinders, it shows this model and I think the date shown is 1915-1920 (but I can't really see it clearly) - what do you think?

 

I have a hunch you're right. That beast has been around a while. Bet it works fine too.

Souvenir piece I think, Ivory elephants on ebony base
card case from the same place as the elephants, I thought Ivory but maybe bone? Will ask about it in a separate thread

 

Bit of $avers fun picks for the day.
I don’t usually buy mortar & pestles unless they’re unusual or really old. This Spanish/Moorish one caught my eye after another picker put back on the shelf, $4.99+.


This mid century mixed media still life was $7.99, really like the texture and composition.


This large 8” J.W. Cusack coin silver spoon was in a bag with plastic spatulas and such for $2.99+



The alabaster fruit was in three separate bags for $2.99 each.

 

Nice spoon - Cusack was the retailer, that's Henry Hebbard's 'Grecian' pattern, introduced in 1862 (US Patent #D1548), later made by Whiting Mfg.

Thanks Cheryl, now I see the double struck mark I couldn’t make out is the pat. no.

 

Would be surprised if the patent number, more likely the year, either 'Pat. 1862' or 'Patent 1862' - below is my pair of Hebbard 1866 'Ivy' coin silver master salt spoons in the original retailer's case, and though different, faces on both patterns were described as 'fawns' (fauns)...

My finds for this weekend! Posted the Heroin bottle in another thread. I really love the vintage glass pig banks and usually pick them up when they are cheap. Kind of hard to see but the peanut butter jar has a elephant named "Jumbo" on it -- these were produced by the Franks Tea and Spice Co.

They were extremely popular decades ago, unfortunately are much diminished today but are still around in some areas. All the Big Boy's around my area are Frisch's Big Boy's which have OK tasting food but are mediocre in many regards.

@komokwa Do you have any Big Boy's in Canada?
