Not all are "Mechels", you get Henri II and a other style we call "hunting style" (lots of death animals), but they are all the same periode just different origines.

@Ownedbybear, I keep forgetting...are you in the States??? Everything you mentioned USED to be easy to find around here (NJ, New England)....but not so much anymore....besides, they say too much organ meat's not so good for you....occasionally is fine, just not a steady diet of it.....most of my family loved it.....NOT MOM though!!!!!

This is the later of the Royal Warrant mark's , used between 1945 to 1949 , although you occasionally see pieces with this mark with a hand painted date after this , theres always the exception to the norm .

here are a few things I got at the estate sale the other day - silver plate saddle/hunting flask with leather case, sterling sovereign coin holder, sterling with celluloid perpetual desk calendar - missing part of one corner, Underwood typewriter, handcuffs have to figure out if they are real or reproductions, large (38"L) Native Salmon design on Burlap wall art - I think 1970s?, cast iron water pump for the yard. I filled up my jeep with boxes so was pretty happy:)
