Two of my recent clearances have been the homes of retired plumbers, I recovered around £1000 of copper, brass and lead, including pipes, joints, taps and solder. etc

Also most clearances that have a shed or garage there is usually quite a bit.

I've not had a weigh in for over 12 months so there should be a pretty penny coming when I do.

Kudos to you @daveydempsey for taking the time to sort & recycle all of that metal!!:kiss::kiss:

There are a lot of people who wouldn't take the time to do that because you don't get much for a couple of things here & there. However if you just have a spot where you can put it until you get a good amount together you can get some real cash & keep it from ending up in the landfills.

I use to go to this one shop that had tables set up outside of the building. The owner would put things he had gotten at a local auction that he didn't think were worth bothering with on top of the tables. If you found it before the weather got to it or somebody chipped it all up you could find some real deals. Best thing I ever found were 2 Williamsburg/Royal Leerdam Baluster wine goblets that I sold for $135.50.:smuggrin:

He would also put out metal that would be virtually worthless after the first rain. Then every once in a while he would go through throwing it all in the dumpster.:bag::bag: :wacky::wacky:

So I would load all the ruined steel, copper, silver plate etc. into boxes & haul it off for him. This of course was back when all of the metals, even steel, was bringing good money. I would usually get enough to pay for a tank of gas & pay for my lunch that day, sometimes more if I lucked into lots of brass & copper.

Unfortunately he closed up about 8 years ago. :arghh::arghh: So now when I get a little pile I drop it off the same recycling center I went to back then & tell the guys to just hold it for the next person who needs the money more than I do right now. I drive right past it going to the auction so it is not out of my way.

I found this Brush McCoy vase at a thrift store for $2.
There's a small chip on the bottom, but I don't mind.

65627E82-4E75-4A13-8F45-67D07D8BCCEB.jpeg This mixed lot of cameos. I’m most excited for these. I think they would make for some gorgeous rings.

AFB56B0C-05D6-4422-A42A-97E376C2851D.jpeg This sweet little gentleman is a mastiff! He is 12 pounds and just shy of 6 weeks old. They are very large dogs (150-200 pounds once grown) but after having lost our little Hollie (dachshund) to old age a little over a year ago we cussed and discussed if or when to have a new member join our family. Today was the day.

VERY blue. I tossed my gamble to call him Maximus but my smaller little lady can only get out “Maxy” and I keep hearing (pad) in my mind so it may not stick. My elder girl insists it’s Maximo and my husband keeps calling him Puppy. :cyclops:

The antique stone brooch is usually called a montrose marble brooch in Scotland.

I really have no idea about the insect, I thought it was a beetle because it has a hard shell, I have no knowledge about crickets. Whatever it is I hope it’s not endangered, it is rather beautiful.
