    Nice off work days haul!
The Y shape chain was for a lorgnette or ball watch:cyclops:. Is the pearl gritty on the tooth rub test? If yes, genuine old river pearl (Mississippi).
    Peacock looks like Siam enamel:)
Nice facetted steel buckle too, and that tiny coral ring... yummm!

I'd have bagged that lorgnette piece too, or at least the piece made like a lorngette. The pearl looks like Mississippi or Tennessee freshwater, and those don't sell for cheap these days. The TVA trashed the pearl beds in those areas and the pearls aren't found now.

Today's finds. Enameled Chinese gilt sterling earrings, and some really goofy boots. Brand new and my size. If I can't sell them I'll be wearing them! They're probably rain boots but part of the uppers is fabric. OTOH, goofy boots in ladies' 42 are a score. DSCF3241.JPG DSCF3243.JPG

Are the earrings heavy? They look gorgeous

    The pearl is very gritty.

Peacock does say Siam enamel. The tail moves independently from the body. Super cute!

Like the Venetian bead necklace and think bows just right. Height of 1970s Eurotrash fashion. Just need a backgammon board.

My 3 recent bank safe deposit boxes found in 3 seperate clearances.

Two old and one modern all with two keys.

I would love to have had the original contents.

All I found was a last Will & Testament and some old Christmas cards.

I guess these 3 families weren't as totally stupid as some of your clients have been in the past. ;):p:p:rolleyes::rolleyes::D:D

I am surprised the banks allowed them to be taken out of the bank. :jawdrop:

Here in the US the boxes are the property of the banks, at least at Wells Fargo where we have ours.

When a branch was being closed we had to move ours to another branch. We had to clean out the one, leave both the key & box at the branch. Now what they did with all of them is hard to say.:rolleyes:

I think these boxes are purchased from the bank and then you pay rent for a space in the vault.

    Hi,
I had a friend who bought several large cabinets full of empty (so he thought) safety deposit boxes from a bank that went out of business. Of the 40 boxes in the cabinets 5 were never emptied. He ended up with 100s of old bank notes and several pieces of jewelry, along with old stock certificates. I remember telling him to look for this one certificate that was worth almost 60 billion dollars. The one certificate has been missing for years now.:eek::eek::eek:

Lovely beads. Do you have a photo of the inclusions so I know what I'm looking for?

Not yet. I'll have to get some in a good light. Even then the camera may not catch them.

He also gave me this sail plan from the 1929 restoration and I have a photo of he, my dad and myself on the ship on my birthday in 1973 which I haven’t found yet.

I would call it a sautoir & do not see any of the findings needed for it to act as the leash of a watch or lorgnette. I would have grabbed it.
