I was fortunate enough to inherit this beautiful sofa off my great aunt and I'm trying to find out some information about it. We've always believed it was an Ercol sofa, however I can't find a stamp confirming that (I read that all Ercol item have this), and I've reviewed all the back catalogues created once a decade by Ercol and nothing even closely matches this sofa. What is clear is it's some sort of hardwood. We believe it was bought in the 1960's, and my uncle thinks it was either from John Lewis or Selfridges in London. It's a stunning piece of furniture. The right hand side lifts up and folds down to make a day-bed. It's so well made. I'm very reluctantly considering parting ways with it due to space. Can anyone shed any light on a possible manufacturer / brand? Thank you for your time!
