Hello again everyone. Here is another Egyptian piece I found. Found this at my local flea market. I have had it several years. It really is a captivating piece. When I first brought it home I could stair at it for hours. Almost like looking into the past, feels like I can look into the eyes and see and feel the person. I have not had it authenticated don’t even know where to start . To me it looks authentic made with layered wood held together with wooden nails. Coated with a underlay polychrome with color , looks to have been cut from the full length sarcophagus lid. Many sarcophagus lids were cut to smuggle or transport easier. I have it in a make shift shadow box right now. I still take it out from time to time to stare at it and look deep into it’s eyes. Silent discussion and thoughts run wild in my mind. I could only imagine how colorful and vibrant the decorations on this once where. Or who this was? I am overwhelmed to think it could be 1000’s of years old. By far the oldest item in my possession.
