Well, here's an interesting side note. Just for grins, I checked my book on pewter manufacturers of Sheffield, England, just in case the Eales of Sheffield name came from an older firm (many of the Sheffield pewterers also added silverplating to their line of wares.) And sure enough, the Eales name is mentioned - but only as a tradename on some of the wares of the Pewter Manufacturing Company (PMC.) PMC was established in 1968. A quote from the details - "Goods are exported worldwide under a variety of trademarks including KENT, LEONARD and EALES. Goods are also made for numerous other firms whose names are placed on the goods." The book was copyrighted in 1980.

My bottom line on this is that Mikey's hot water pot is not early but was made in Sheffield by PMC with the older style of decor.

We already know that the plating is mostly gone and with it much of its appeal and value. I'm sorry I can't justify it being older.
My bottom line on this is that Mikey's hot water pot is not early but was made in Sheffield by PMC with the older style of decor. We already know that the plating is mostly gone and with it much of its appeal and value. I'm sorry I can't justify it being older. :(
