Featured Dug Pottery From Georgia Mud

    Hi,
    Paint stripper will not hurt the glaze only the newer paint.

    Oddly, I like the paint. That jug took a good 70/80 years to look that bad; I wouldn't mess with it, but again YMMV.

    I like the way it looks with the paint as well but I am so curious to know a maker. I've decided not to sell it and to add it to a wall ill building shelves out of old white oak. Ill leave it with the property more than likely now that I'm getting attached. The paint just makes it look cool.
    I'm going to flip a quarter on it when I get back to the house. Heads I strip it tails she stays the same. I will be there in an hour so we shall know....

    So I started to clean it just to hopefully find a marking of some kind but you want to talk about good paint. This is not easy to clean. Not sure if its revealed anything at all we did not already see but ill post pics throughout. This way if someone sees a clue to a date or maker or a sign that I need to stop what I'm doing , please speak up so I don't ruin anything.
