Does anyone recognize the men in this photo?

Hi,
I think the other guy was just passing by. The guy dressed was very 1970ish. I wore my fathers cashmere coat which had large sleeves like his. My dad's coat was from the 40s. I wore it with a leather vest and a long silk scarf. Did not wear Jodhpurs though.

I liked that it was a time to have fun with clothes... more, I think, than before or since in my lifetime.

 

Hmmm, too bad. It would be worth a mint (perhaps) if it were Stokely Carmichael instead of a "regular" out-and-about NYC resident or an (unrecognizable) actor or high-priced dog walker.

 

For sure, Yourturn! Without identifying him, I'm not sure there will even be a market.

Neither - at least to me.

The Electric Company was in production from 71 to 77 and from what I remember Freeman always had an afro during the show.

 

well. it was a shot. I swear I recognize the guy with the dog, but can't put a name to him. I'll probably bolt straight up in bed about 3 a.m. with the answer. that's usually how it works with me

I think the cat on the right is just VERY stylish ! I get more of an early 80s vibe ?

 

I think it was the mid-80s when I wore a hat like the guy on the left, and a largish coat like the guy on the right. But in general I'm not so good at identifying eras based on clothes or hair styles.

 

Indiana Jones made hats like the one on the left popular for a while.

 

Good point, Johnny, and the first one came out in 1981.

The '80s would fit with no afro, no long side burns, and no bell bottoms.

 

I think the guy on the left was incidental. I checked images on Google of black actors and models and didn't come up with those features. However, think about professional sports guys. Many of them tend to be flamboyant. Borzoi's aren't cheap. Either the photo was from a fashion spread or it is someone famous.
