He says it came from an estate sale, from which he also acquired a similar portrait of Napoleon.</p><p><br /></p><p>The Surrey map on the back is certainly old, but could have been added later? </p><p><br /></p><p>The map backing came split, so I could view the base of the portrait, which is raised at the sides suggesting it was cast from resin (or plastic) with the line details cloured by hand afterwards.
