A local auction house had their auction today. They have always had on-line bidding up until the morning of the sale, but they were limiting the number of people that were able to attend in person. I had consigned something that sold this afternoon & I will be interested to see what it ended up selling for today.

The auction house I work for is doing a version of a silent auction. They have 850+ lots that are all numbered & they are allowing people to come in at their leisure over a couple of weeks time to view the lots. They can then leave bids for whatever lots they are interested in & then they will notify if you that you won. A time will be set up for you to pick up anything that you won.

If this works out well he will continue to take consignments & possibly do another auction like this again. If it does not go well I am not sure what he will do. I was over there dropping off some stuff on this past Monday & he said he already had bids coming in so he was optimistic.

A local consignment shop I frequent will also be opening on June 1st with reduced hours & some physical changes to the shop. I do consign stuff to the shop & had about 15 items on the shelves when they closed down. They gave you the option to come & pick up your stuff before June 1st; have it re-tagged & placed back onto the shelves; or you could just leave it as is & it would be sold at whatever is on the tag.

This shop runs on a 90 day consignment schedule & they do sell a tremendous amount of clothing. The price drops 25% after the first 30 days & another 25% after 60 days. You can then pick up whatever didn't sell or they will donate it to a local TS if you don't.
