Featured Coral Earrings

It is really a hard choice between these earrings & her little old 18K ring with the piece of "Murano" glass.

@KSW - You may want to sleep with one eye open & put these earrings & the ring under your pillow at night.

 

Wouldn't tempt me - no holes in my ears. (sigh)

I'd be tempted to take a toothbrush to the coral and my bare fingers to the gold. Good old skin oil takes off tarnish on silver just fine and it couldn't hurt the gold. I'd be afraid of what ammonia would do to the coral.

 

I know, I’m blessed at the moment. That will probably be it for the year now!
I had a choice of two different car boot sales on Saturday and was bemoaning to my daughter that we had chosen the wrong one and there was nothing there but rubbishy Christmas presents that no one wants like out of date bath salts and tatty kids toys. Then I spotted these and the day got significantly better! You probably don’t want to know how much they were either…..(feels guilty again…)

I keep seeing things online like ‘the oldest wooden door, tree felled in 500AD’ and thinking, but my piece of glass is older than that! It’s been a very useful education for the kids to research what was going on in the world that long ago. An actual physical item brings history to life. That and ‘Horrible Histories’ which is my very favourite kids series.

 

I’m not sure the metal is gold? It looks quite pitted, I’ll test it.

 

The price is half the fun at places like that! Thank goodness you didn't go to the other one.

I think we need to start packing @Ownedbybear. Lightly though! Need as much space as possible

I've always loved history, but you can never quite wrap your head around it at times. Horrible Histories is quoted regularly in our family!

 

Obb doesn't need to pack, for her it is a daytrip. The rest of us joolies however....

Ok, you two are so smart .
I would literally have laid money that they were gold plated but they test very positively for 9k
Unfortunately one of the hooks is twisted round and I’m leary of twisting it back in case it snaps off.

 

(sigh) You'd have to be very careful. The lower the karetage the harder the gold and the less pliable.

 

I can imagine how quickly you extracted those out. I have a perfect vision of it!
