    I set this up in the basement my sons friends really thought it was kewl and said it's like primitive video games from my era lol

    Welcome. I don't think anyone ever stops learning when it comes to antiques.

    @ Lloyd, I showed my youngest grandson a rotary dial phone and he had no clue what to do with it. After playing with it for a while, he was astounded at how long it took to dial someone's full telephone number and how heavy the receiver was. He said we must have talked less "back then"

    I collect them also and the wall mount one really blows their minds, with a 3 foot cord lol and the phone numbers were only 4 digits long

    I have a number of table top and wall mount types as well as 2 large, black, coin ops of which one is Canadian...eh. ;)

    I will add that there is at least one person here whose grandmother and an aunt were still answering their "home" telephone(s) in the 1960s with the word "alright" (instead of "hello") as if an "operator" at the city's central switchboard had placed/connected the call to them. :rolleyes:
