    I wonder why your example was estimated so high,@Jivvy? 1,000 - USD 1,500 - and ended so much lower? USD 358

    @carolgal was offered $500

    I'd say TAKE the $500, but for that estimate + very old 2003 auction

    Yes, the signature looks identical. Thanks Scout and Jivvy.

    What is making me hesitate a bit is that a friend recently offered us a ceramic cricketing plaque for €50. Himself has a great knowledge on the subject and and spotted it was really old, costumes or something. So he advised him to put it up for auction in a good place. He got remarkably different estimates from different houses. Remarkably different from 100 to 2000. He ended up getting €4000 for it, very excellent. So I am a little more cautious now about selling some things too quickly.

    Really hard to find anything here re. Racing horses on google cause the country is full of real ones and that’s what comes up.

    Thanks again:joyful:

    Ok, instead of googling Bronze horsey I now have equestrian cold painted polychrome bronze horse:singing:

    The Austrian and Bergman ones are similar so that may pin down era a bit. But this AJ is a mystery just like our AJ......becoming an obsession! And not a child in the house washed!!

    The Bergmann foundry closed for a few years in the 1930s, but was finally shut down in the mid 50s.
    Oh dear, oh dear.:facepalm:
