I bought a 50 x 30, 1/2 inch glass coffee table with thick heavy , low brass feet, in 83...

cost me well over a grand.......

 

Did you ever price out PLATE GLASS THAT THICK??? REAL $$$

 

That glass better be bulletproof for that price.

 

If you fire a bullet at a piece of glass, the glass will shatter immediately as the bullet passes through it. This is because normal glass is not elastic, so it is not equipped to handle the impact of a bullet. It doesn't stand a chance and breaks right away.
