That would fit me, but do the tail and head 'give' enough to slide a hand or wrist in between?

 

For folks with hands that "fold up" it's a normal size. For folks with hands that don't, it's too narrow.

 

Not much give to the tail and head, just a tiny bit. But it shouldn't matter ~ you need to put your hand in sideways @ widest part, not up and down. It's more wide than it is tall ~ not exactly round. It's about 2.5" wide x 2.25" tall.

I just tried it again and it fits fine! I think I was afraid of damaging it the first time.
For comparison, I measured my hand as they suggest below. My hand is 7.25"-7.5" (tape measure kept slipping)

Mine is 17.5cm, so slightly bigger than extra small.

It is the way you can scrunch your hand together in the place where the tape measure is in the picture you posted.
I used to be able to make that circumference smaller, but my hands are not as young and flexible as they used to be. Just like the rest of me.

Delicacy was never my problem. I wear men's gloves because the hands in women's are too narrow.
