    I love it! Thanks!

Any way to gauge an age of this piece?

Got the stretcher out that was still present but will need to source replacements. They are 17" end to end (if anyone makes them on the side, pls let me know):

Exactly, a pretty common feature in furniture.

Tiquer, you seem to be shocked by the details you posted, but you have to remember that old and and antique furniture are a world away from Ikea. All of those details look normal to people who are used to old furniture.

So happy!! The right side "stretcher" had snapped and there was a broken "tenon" in one of the mounting holes. I was able to very carefully drill into it and extract the tenon!

I now have a dowel in there to provide stability. I was terrified that I might damage this old piece trying to extract that tenon. You would have thought that I was disarming a nuke the way I was touching the thing!

Tiquer. Fun chair. Helpful if you post your photos by clicking on "FULL IMAGE" when loading so we don't have to click on anything and they just show up full size in the text box. Thanks! :)

Will do. I wish I could get a general age of this thing! I'll have to look up someplace to take it.

Circa 1900. Maybe leaning more toward late 19th century than 20th but certainly made on into the early part.

So this blew my mind today...

This is a wall panel from the Olympic ship, sister of Titanic. Note the face... 20240329_160416.jpg
