Featured Carved Stone Pendant Help Please

    no, not copal or amber, it is stone:) yes, I know the hot needle test is not something you should do and there are other ways to test for amber, but I did it on this piece because I knew it wasn't amber. I have it in hand so it easy for me, I can feel it, but for folks looking at photos, I can understand the doubt:)
    yes, you are seeing it correctly, no reflection of the blacklight:)

    I think it is one of those specific Chinese agalmatolite type stones, like Shoushan stone and others. This looks a bit like Shoushan, but since Shoushan is quite rare and expensive, it isn't likely to be.
    It could be another type of agalmatolite, dyed to look like Tianhuang Shoushan stone, the valued yellow variety.

    To my eye that’s the closest AJ. I think that’s what it is trying to be although I don’t know the stone. I just couldn’t go with any form of carnelian.
