[QUOTE="wlwhittier, post: 9811863, member: 76316"]It's 2 7/16" long, 1 7/16" wide; the agate ojime is ~3/8" diameter. It weighs ~2 1/2 oz. It was a recent gift from an old friend, an' I'm tickled to have it...but thought to offer it for your opinions an' observations. These are several of the reasons I lean toward Chinese vs Japanese origin: It is unsigned (I have looked, carefully). There is no Netsuke. The decorative knot in the cord doesn't seem Japanese to me. The pair of rabbits, in 2 places, look somehow more like a Chinese theme, but that's a weak assumption. And finally the dark staining on the inside surfaces are 'out-of-place', in my (limited) experience with Inros from Japan. There is the faintest odor there, which may be of tobacco...an' maybe not. The long cord may be for hanging around the neck, tho' that is not customary with Japanese Inros. Thanks for lookin'!
