Tie.dye.cat, I am hoping that you get an answer because it will probably be an answer I need. I have a small (with handle) cup and matching saucer just like you described which has a "3D face on the inside bottom of the cup." The "3D" face in mine appears to be a geisha. Does yours have any marks/lettering? Mine has words printed in English. On the bottom of the cup it says "Japan" and on the bottom of the matching (scenic) saucer it says: "Nik O Niko China Handpainted Made in Occupied Japan" My cup stands 2" high without its saucer and measures 1-3/4" across at the upper opening/rim. Measured across the widest part of the body of the cup and including the small handle it is 3-1/8" wide. It is a lightweight, translucent china and has a lovely, clear "ring" when lightly struck. ;)
