Welllll, that glass pattern isn't "Frosted with Clear Bar." The Clear Bar doesn't have that design in the bar. I'm not sure if that design are diamonds, Hobbnails, or just plain squares. I don't have an idea one for this pattern. I looked around on such EAPG sites as:

http://www.patternglass.com

The Early American Pattern Glass Society

http://www.eapgs.org/

I doubt that collar was original with that wide brass shoulder/plate. That collar has "deep annular grooves to strengthen the thinner sides and is either a Taplin-Brown collar or a Taplin-Brown style collar. Many Taplin-Brown collars have patent dates on them. The dates are "April 13, 1875 and March 21, 1876. Do look the collar over. The patent dates on their collar is usually in the middle row between the 2 grooves. Without knowing the exact pattern name, I believe you are safe in dating this lamp to the timeframe of 1865-1880s because of the iron base and the collar.

Here is a pic of the Taplan-Brown collar. Scroll about 1/2 way down the page to the section "Bristol Brass & Clock."

http://www.thelampworks.com/lw_companies_bristol.htm

Hopefully a "glassie" will come along with help on the glass pattern!!!

--- Susan
