Good Grief! She sure is ready to party. Like Holly, I thought it was a strange, badly balanced vase. Thank goodness Greg knew better. Feel like it gives me some insight into Greg's mom.

I guess you have never viewed an armadillo trap. https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-a...=1&vd=0&lb=&fi=2&edrf=&ispremium=1&flip=0&pl=

Great find! I have not seen this composition before, but suspect there is a painting out there somewhere it was copied from. My best guess is that it is Cupid & the 3 Graces. You see no wings but that is probably a bow in the little guys hand. The Graces were part of his mother Venus's household & there are many scenes of the 4 of them together. They are sort of cowering because they are bathing & because all the other gods were afraid of Cupid, his arrows made them do foolish things they regret later.

A really ambitious effort of our good friend 'Silz', aka Charles Schmoll:

There are so many Schmolls floating around that it is possible to see his skill developing. He became very good & in his later career tackled whole scenes this way instead of the usual profile heads of a bacchante or Flora which are so ubiquitous, but never achieved master status. The perspective really defeated him on this one of mine:

Fascinating. Not sure Mamie would have been allowed to keep it. Think gifts from foreign parties are considered property of the Office of the President of the US & warehoused. Unless there is an exception for gifts to the First Lady. Probably not. Does not appear to have been set for wear, so she was saved from having to sport it on her breast either way. Why is it that modern cameos of contemporary figures just do not have the life of Victorian cameos of Caesers?

What Kyra said. It was meant to be personalized, perhaps with a monogram.

Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather!
I didn’t buy as I needed the ‘nod’ before committing myself!. Glad I made the right call. You were definitely missed but take it easy catching up! Xx

Bronwen, I bought this not very well carved RG cameo from the very last rummage (for the foreseeable):( and can see a sig on the back but can’t really make out if it’s in 2 lines, any ideas who it may be please? It’s an inch wide and inch and a quarter high. Thanks.

Casco. It's a cameo factory. There may be the personal mark of the cutter with it, not something I can decipher, I'm afraid.

I risk being fined if I go out & hobnob, so taking it easy is the rule of the day. Thank you for the good wishes. Think I might start calling it The Blight.

I hope she does not mind my sharing this piece of personal information with you. @bluumz is a respiratory therapist, so she is going to be on intimate terms with this plague & guessing it could get to be non-stop & heartbreaking work. Thankfully she is in an area that has not so far made the news for its number of cases. Thoughts & prayers appreciated.

I haven't seen this one before. What's with all the cotton-y stuff coming down from the plane and into her hand?
(It has a BIN price of $7250!)

Not sure I've seen this very one but have seen similar. Just as mystified by the fluff as you are. A visual expression of prayers & wishes being sent to pilot? I read it as having war time inspiration.

Looks like it's a handful of fur from her fur stole.

    Thanks for the mention!
We RTs are glad of the attention our job is finally getting (normally, the doctors and nurses receive all the adulation) but it's too bad that something like this had to bring it about.

Here’s a photo of me showing some muscle, ready for a stint in the ICU at the Veterans Hospital, LOL:

@Bronwen, just want to say we are so happy to see you back and posting.

With this cameo thread you have been so generous to anyone who needs help with cameos. Your advice and knowledge have added so much to what is available to us on this site (which is no mean task since this is a great site).

Please except my, and many others, thanks and wishes for your continued participation!
