THIS is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 more days!!!! Can't wait.....but I will!!! AND I DID NOT PEEK ABOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, B-I-L and his SO came over tonight (Birthday night for DH)!!! Before I would even COOK dinner I sat the brothers down together, gave them each a knife, told mine Happy Birthday, and that since they were so much like the "Bobsey Twins" they each get one.....and to get busy!!!! What a hoot they were!!!!!!!!! B-I-L's GF and I were laughing SO HARD at times I could hardly hold the camera steady!!!! But couldn't have asked for better, crazy gifts for them!!!!! THANKS Spring, for the BEST evening's fun in a LOONG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, they are funny together anyway, but they were hysterical opening and digging through each of their boxes!!!!!! "Did you get this?" "I dunno!" "Yeah, what is it?" "Haven't a clue!!" They just kept up a commentary going back and forth 'til they got to the bottom!!!! HAHA.....and then tried to get it all back in the boxes......now, THAT was also funny!!!!! Just a quick snap of the 'Bobsey Boys'.....lousy shot.....laughing too hard to hold camera steady......AND I DID NOT TELL THEM TO PUT THE CAPS ON!!!!!!
Well maybe enough time has passed to start giving clues on some of the items that I know are still unknown to all recipients. But we'll just check, ya never know sometimes, Ray-o surprised my by nailing the spearhead-like things the other day! In all boxes there was a steel disc about 3.5" diameter, with many little nocks around the edge. Anyone?
Well, DH is turning blue....wait it may be purple now......wanting to know several answers, and this thread just STOPS HERE!!!!!!!!!!!! WHERE ARE ALL THE ANSWERS????????????? Yes he wants to know what the heck the 3.5" dia disc is, and we both want to know what the heck the 8" long thing I've posted an image below of is that I started to take apart until a hundred million gazillion thousand little silky fiberglass like gray fibers started to pop out at me (back end I think) and I quickly shoved back together????????????????????????????????????? And there WILL be a few more questions
The disc is called a wire or thickness gauge. I use them for sheet metal so thickness gauge to me. The other was answered previously and I have two. I knew what they were and pleased to have them. They are 'chaff' and they are fired from an aircraft mainly to distract attacking missles and foul up radar returns. Heat seeking missles should ignore it normally.
So, are you into planning a defense scheme And THANK YOU, BTW, for the clarification on those two items.....so far!!!!
So, @springfld.arsenal, I take it you would let us know if for any reason, you did NOT receive payment! This was more fun than the proverbial "Barrel of Monkeys"!!!!!!!!
Yes, and thank you for your payment! The chaff cartridge has been explained pretty well. The disk looks like a wire gauge but isn't. It is part of a kinda complex artillery projectile used defensively during the Vietnam War. Anyone want to work with that and guess or will we need more clues?
Flak thrown/shot up somehow????? AND since I'm still last, can you expand on the ceramic pen nibs????? I know you said without handles (but that they might fit in empty bp pens [which I haven't come across any yet in my searchings]), but can they be used like in a Dremel????? Or is that too hi-speed for them??? The small triangles are for sharpening them, correct??? I am intrigued.....I love to dabble!!!!!!! Box is still providing FUN!!
