There are some medals and other military insignia too, like I mentioned, if you're going to send for a box, feel free to include a note with any emphasis you want, like "military", "novelty", "tools", "ephemera", "nautical" etc., any number of such categories. No note, then I'll put in more or less what I listed in orig. post. But still need your address label pls, save me work and transcription errors.

Btw haven't got any mail on this yet but I'm sure a couple of you sent in last week. Hmmm? I suspect some issue with mail delivery in the industrial park, but whatever it is I'm sure it'll get cleared up. Don't have a coronary if you get the letter back with some idiotic post-office rubber stamping on it like "Return to Sender: Addressee failed to give postman a tip last Christmas." Or whatever, it'll get fixed.

 

No requests received yet but I know at least a few were sent this way, and are now waaay overdue. I've submitted a service complaint to the usps and am now the proud owner of a 9-digit "case number." Whoopie. When I hear back I'll post here again.

Meanwhile I keep thinking of stuff to include. Another item is a WWII NIG-condition British rifle spike bayonet. Some may ask "What is NIG?" If you've never seen cosmoline, here's your chance! Of course it'd be wrapped so no cosmo would get on other stuff. Cosmo is normally removed with a thinner petro product such as diesel or kero. Sry I have no scabbards.

Anyone who has sent off for the freebie and hasn't already told me via message, please send me a pm just saying you sent in, if you don't mind, the usps is asking me how many and I dunno.

Oh and if there's anything I've mentioned you don't want I'd try to honor that as well, like some pacifists may not want the bayonet, and some others may not want it because of the cosmo.

Guess what just came in the mail?

The little yellow sticker says "return to sender not deliverable as addressed unable to forward". Someone has also written "UTF" on the envelope & I can only imagine what those letters mean.

So Spring, how are we suppose to send you money for our boxes of goodies if you give out bogus addresses?

Very sorry, the address is correct. Global Stone is on a big sign on front of building, and is in fact registered to us as a company name. I'll follow up on my usps complaint case number tomorrow since usps hasn't given me any results yet. I'm totally lost as to why the postman can't put the letter in the box where both the sign and address say it should go!

I mean, go ahead and Google "Global Stone" then click on the top hit showing our address. You get a picture of our building and on the left, over a black pickup truck, is the square white sign I mentioned. Google has a bad phone no. I guess the usps is too stupid to use Google?

If we can't fix the usps I'll come up with another path for the incoming requests, don't despair! Again, sorry, and baffled!

 

I know you are the man to get to the bottom of the whole thing & get it straightened out.

I just did the Google search & the address that pops up is 6792 Gravel Ave. Franconia, VA.

 

Interesting-maybe somethin' to do with how the Google search algorithm works for you vs. me, using inputs of your zip code, and many other things Google knows about you (Twilight Zone theme music here.). Anyway here are screenshots of first page and one click beyond I got just now. Trust and be patient, remember I keep thinking of other/better stuff to include in da box!





Just noticed that Google fuzzes up all text it "sees" in its street-view photos. When you enlarge the photo on your screen, you can almost count the bricks on the building but the sign texts are all wigglewarped by Mr. Google.

 

I guess I did not explain that very well. I saw that it had the address you gave us, but that different address would kind of appear in the upper right hand corner & than disappear. It would come back if I moved the cursor around that spot.

I also saw somewhere the year 2014. Can it be they did some rezoning? Are you or your neighbors getting any mail at all?

 

After investigating many strange events in many different fields, my guess is that this problem's cause was something that no one would be able to guess or even imagine.

 

My 'guess' is that quite a dang lot of carriers could give a rat's butt anymore.
Mine is great!
His stand-ins couldn't drop a rock and have it hit the ground.
MAJOR effort to buzz me to take a tiny package.
The others always look disgusted even though I'm there before they finish loading the boxes.

Even mail addressed to "occupant" gets delivered, but if marked "global stone" gets bounced. So now I'm guessing we're dealing with the human element, not sure why I think that? They say they'll get back to me soon, of course!

Worse case scenario we all send it to that address, but instead of Global Stone we put occupant.
