<p>
I'm not at all sure if this would be considered a bouillotte lamp. Ones from the 1700s when bouillotte was a popular card game and reproductions made today had/have metal/tin/tole shades that slide down a post as the candles burned down to protect the card players from the glare of the candles. Their bases were usually dish shape. The ones I've seen have the candle cups on arms rather than on a tray thingy like these are on. Following is a link to Google pictures of them. Note the stem in the middle isn't like yours.</p><p><br /></p><p><a href="https://www.google.com/search?q=Bouillotte+lamp&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiso5uw9_LRAhUG5WMKHSFbBDgQsAQINA&biw=1280&bih=513&dpr=1.5" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="https://www.google.com/search?q=Bouillotte+lamp&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiso5uw9_LRAhUG5WMKHSFbBDgQsAQINA&biw=1280&bih=513&dpr=1.5" rel="nofollow">https://www.google.com/search?q=Bouillotte+lamp&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiso5uw9_LRAhUG5WMKHSFbBDgQsAQINA&biw=1280&bih=513&dpr=1.5</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Here's a webpage with info on bouillotte tables and lamps:</p><p><a href="http://buzzonantiques.blogspot.com/2010/07/word-of-day-bouillotte.html" target="_blank" class="externalLink ProxyLink" data-proxy-href="http://buzzonantiques.blogspot.com/2010/07/word-of-day-bouillotte.html" rel="nofollow">http://buzzonantiques.blogspot.com/2010/07/word-of-day-bouillotte.html</a></p><p><br /></p><p>Wait for others to chime in.</p><p><br /></p><p>--- Susan
</p><p><br /></p>
