Along with millions of other not kosher listings and hardly limited to art.

I didn't study eBay's policy but... I don't see how this language forbids/restricts the sale of reproductions as long as described as such.

I do. In eBay’s typical way it’s all about revenue for them and they leave it up to the seller to be responsible for figuring out if an item is copyrighted or restricted by protection in any way and will in many cases (not all for sure) remove member reported listings. In this particular case the painting is not by Botero nor is it an exact copy. This is strictly a discussion and nowhere did I say I would look for this work and report it. I only report listings I personally search for that IMO go against policy and I definitely don’t search Botero.

There is no such thing as an "exact replica" when another artist paints an artist's painting for study, fun, profit. Even a print of an original piece isn't an exact replica! I am fine with ebay's allowances for reproduced copies of paintings, it's been a relief to read the truth in the title and in the descriptions, and not accidentally purchase a faked painting. I'd always prefer to know the truth. I do not consider that to be "keyword spam" at all. Adding descriptive words that are unrelated to the item for sale but will come up in unrelated searches - is what keyword spam is all about. Thank you for finding the ebay policy, Debora. It's much better written policy than what was available for buyers and sellers a few years ago and people were sold fakes.

I believe Journey's was painted as a repro in China.

What about “poor attempt at a Botero signed Remington. Please buy a poster of the original”?

Not currently selling so not really a good opinion but if it's not keyword issue, maybe something like Signed Remington painting after Botero's The American Holiday?

If I remember correctly that would have been allowed in the description once upon a time.
