Plus, its a women&#039;s bike, which is more common.</p><p><br /></p><p>I learned the following in person at an Antiques Roadshow event: Women&#039;s vintage bicycles have a lower resale value than men&#039;s vintage bicycles.&nbsp; Apparently gals took better care of their bicycles.&nbsp; So finding a good condition men&#039;s bike is more rare.&nbsp; Maybe this price difference is just for the cream of the crop models, not sure.</p><p><br /></p><p>At Antiques Roadshow (2004) I started up a conversation with a woman who had the most amazing vintage bike, all bells and whistles, top of the line, massive chrome headlight, pristine, design that screamed 1950&#039;s, and showroom new.&nbsp; She couldn&#039;t walk ten feet without someone stopping her to ask about it. With all these antiques and priceless paintings (someone even had a coffin they were wheeling through...) this bicycle was what was stopping folks in their tracks. The owner had it appraised at AR, and was told that &quot;if it was a men&#039;s bike instead&quot;, value would have been (I think)...3K higher.&nbsp; The one she had was really amazing, I think it was valued at $1,500 or something, which to my eye even seemed low for what it was.
