Bernard Direxit Ingraving/Print? Noah’s Ark

Looking at the images, the paper looks right for an older print, both in terms of the indentation and the type of paper (laid).

 

Seems a good chance it is solidly antique, even if not first edition. Pat is right about the type of paper & printing process.

I'm having trouble sorting out Diderot's Encyclopedie from this Histoire Universelle. The seller with the print similar to yours says it comes from a supplement to the Encyclopedie. If I insist on Histoire, I am relentlessly taken to the Naturelle.

I wouldn't trust this print seller who thinks these engravings are by the renowned engraver Benard Direxit:

Given the number of his contributions to the two volumes, can't imagine how he would have had time for a third.

Going by the size & lack of folds, the one at INH's link is from a quarto volume.
