My semi-feral Siamese-mix, Lisa, is a gifted hunter, with squirrels a favorite prey, so they've abandoned the backyard in fear of being eaten by the fierce little feline - but they're still out front, busily munching on Queen palm fruit and scolding the kitties. Our grey squirrels here in Central Florida are a bit puny, but our fox squirrels, when they're seen, are big and beautiful...

I absolutely love the squirrel afternoon nap/collapse. I remember the first time I saw it, I was quite alarmed that all the squirrels were sick!

My wife gets a mix she takes to work.
Roasted almonds do appear here on occasion...when I'm in a roasting mood & want the smell to waft thru the house...........like Heaven !!

Thanks, Kiko. Mr AJ has a war syndrome and doesn't handle many people well. Britain is very close and I used to drive there, but that is not an option now.
Most of my British relatives live close to airports and would be happy to pick us up. But I can't see him handling the drive to our local airport, let alone the hustle and bustle of the airport itself. A drive to the local shopping street wears him out. Me too, for that matter.

 

Love them! We still have them here as well, but those grey invaders are bigger and have been bullying our native 'little flames' out of their own territory. The nerve!

 

I'm not where I can get to my records, but I don't think so. That side of the family has been here a long time and I tend to think of them as The Americans (Hillbilly Caste).
