They are very bold, so I see them up close and personal all the time. They sit on my trees and chatter at me and my cats. They look just like rats with bushy tails.

I go with tour companies that include people will all sorts of physical and cognitive challenges. Fellow travelers are generally kind and helpful. Just a thought.

If they would just share some nuts, I might feel differently. I am a critter lover from the tiniest to the biggest, but all I get is shells, so I don't view them very fondly.

:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: You never know. I have been camping all over Canada from Vancouver to Newfoundland and Labrador. I have a number of pieces and art work from Canadian indigenous peoples, so I might have even stopped in your shop back in the day.

My "tree rats" are like little flames, living in a huge oak in my garden and hiding everywhere walnuts and hazelnuts from my trees up to my outside windows pots... No nuts for me, as the rascals doggies eat them too:beaver::joyful:

Bravo! I'd love to have them closer... But doggies and hunting cat scare them:arghh:

    Thank you, Ô Silver Guru!:)

Cute. We've only got the grey ones down here, I think the only pockets of red squirrels are up in Scotland. They are our native species but some bright spark decided to introduce the greys to the UK in the late 19th C and the reds were herded north.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Where I live in the central US we still have the fox squirrels. They have a more docile personality than the gray squirrels. Where I grew up (and where relatives still live), the Eastern gray squirrel has taken over and I never see any of the fox squirrels there any more. The gray squirrels are slightly smaller (and more destructive) than the fox squirrels are. You might get a different idea from the sizes of these photos I found on the Web.

Jivvy the research is my favorite

By all reports, my maternal grandfather was a drunk SOB without much to recommend him.

When I was pretty young, he visited and the thing I remember most was he spent almost all of his time outside feeding the squirrels.

He was there for a week and by the end of it, squirrels were taking nuts right out of his hand.

So it amused me when I found this picture of him, my mother, and a little friend.
