Featured Art Nouveau tiny spoon pendant, what was it used for?

We associate Art Nouveau with those girls with flowing hair, but in fact very few period items feature that girl. So when you see her, ask here before buying. There is a market for your spoon though.

I have a tin of snuff. Found it at a garage sale and bought it because of my interest in snuff boxes. Never tried it. There's a barcode on the label, so how old can it be? But it's an old timey stamped metal tin, and I see some (label free) listed online as antique.
