Any thoughts on origin,function, age of these old things?

I see that others beat me to it. Sigh. Those of us who have been in the business for more years than we can count will appreciate your future thoughtfulness.

 

Okay everyone got it! Just so you know I would never put a needle to something I thought was bakelite, celluloid, horn, jet, collectible acryllic, lucite, cinnabar, jade or any collectible I thought it would ruin. i have put a needle to very fake mostly likely recent Chinese resin, combo items that are try to look like an old snuff bottles, or ivory. I have never ruined a good piece! I been in the business long enough to know better. The piece in question I believe is a recent fake as hot water took off the brown 'age". Mini rant. Done.
