It is about 25 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches high. The square area in the middle is 4 inches wide by 3 1/2 deep. The entire work is 4 inches thick. Those are some sort of wooden balls with real horsehair coming out through the bottoms of them. The carving is unknown to me.The wood is painted with the thickest lacquer paint that I have ever seen cover any item... about as thick as cardboard... but very hard.
