I know, I heard quite a lot of Swiss German growing up, and the German lands just east of us don't speak Hochdeutsch either. But I was commenting on Bronwen's post about different genders for Schatz.
The distinct difference between dialects is the same for most European languages, btw. I could post something here in my local dialect that the other Dutch members here wouldn't understand at all.;)

I didn't mention it earlier, but I really like your info on the roof tiles.:)

Yes, it's different too when it's written or spoken, and I make a confusion between the posts, answering not exactly at the good person between german and swiss.:muted:
After a new research and speaking with a friend, Schatz had a possible sexual connotation too which has two interpretations on the glass.
Like when English use a bird and a cage in the 18 century with male and female porcelain figurines…
As I has not too much work this afternoon, go to my stock place for making some pictures of the tiles.

"Mein Schatz" is used for both genders; female form would be - following the German pattern - "Meine Schätzin",which is not in use.
"Vivat" is the exclamation form, "may he live".

Had a hard time choosing, so here are three...

An English silver 'Monkey on a Stick' articulated novelty spoon, Saunders & Shepherd, London, 1892:

A late 19th - early 20th century Norwegian loop-handled sugar spoon with champlevé and plique-à-jour enamel work, marked only '900', most likely by Marius Hammer:

And an uncommon 830 silver version of a traditional Sami 'kuksa' drinking cup, by modern Norwegian maker Juhls/Kautokeino. Very large and heavy, it measures 8" long (inc. ½" dia. rings), the bowl 3⅞" in diameter and 1½" deep (holds 2/3 cup):

Beautiful, Cheryl. The possible Marius Hammer is stunning, as is the modern Sami drinking cup.
The English one is great fun, that'll keep you occupied for a while.:playful:

Pretty comfortable with attribution to Marius Hammer - the piece below is well-marked, and have only seen that design with MH marks:

Was tickled to get the kuksa, have admired Juhls pieces for some time, but have never seen one of these before - interesting makers, a Dane and German working in Norway on Sami silver (as well as other wonderful stuff), Scandinavian trip on my bucket list, and this shop warrants a visit:

This Swedish silver kuksa was made in 1882:

And I do have way too much fun playing with the little monkey - missed out on his mate, the same piece with Punch (sold for more than twice my high bid)...

I have also come across pieces with a Marius Hammer attribution and no marks. Yours, with a combination of the design and plique-à-jour, looks very Marius Hammer to me.
I have a few unmarked silver gilt enameled solje brooches which are in the Marius Hammer style, but I can't say for sure they actually are by him.
It certainly does, beautiful work. It seems the Sami don't do any silversmithing themselves, just silver wire braiding. But they wear those dangles on their traditional clothing. I have a 1970s Sami style ring with one of those circular dangles, also not Sami-made.
