Ah. No brass tootsies. Too bad I thought they were cute. This is one I saw that was similar but it has bun feet.

These are just examples. I see the holes where wood pegs are missing, so I'm not sure what that means.

Excellent. I appreciate your thoughts on this piece. The others I saw that had similar beading are rosewood, but I wouldn't know the difference. I know that it was unloved for a while and the wood needs some TLC.
I see what you mean. If the triangular feet were knocked off through use, maybe bun feet were available for repair and just added. I'm sure OBB has seen these before and knows the feet style.

Ah ha. I looked it up and you are right. It is very stripey. Apparently, it was logged almost to extinction and now is a protected species.

Rosewood is protected too, it’s lovely wood.

Perfect. Thanks so much for weighing in. I never thought of scrap boxes or using silicone to create moldings. How very clever. I will enjoy researching and tracking these down. I looked again and you are right, there are missing handles. I will start to look for these pieces. I so appreciate your help.

I try to find interesting stuff to present here. I've learned enough to be able to figure out the more pedestrian stuff myself, though, I think you may enjoy this too. Not mine. Sent by a friend.

That needs a good home in a home bar or a poker/game area!

You might look for a Georgian mop gaming piece to repair the missing bite.
