Featured Antique? Miniature portrait help with age, Signature

I think it's ok to sell because of the age. I think it will be Ebay starting Saturday. Just making the decision of how and how much. BIN or auction?

Given its relatively small size (and its White edges) it may be a ceramic/porcelain plaque?

 

If it is Ivory, it must pre-date 1947 to sell at auction. You could just list the item as: Ceramic/Bone/Ivory? (in the title heading)

 

I think it predates 1947 by err umm a hundred years or so lol

It is sometimes best not to mention certain things about an item when selling it on eBay. This not only allows a potential buyer room for ones own discovery & research, it can also give rise to opportunistic bidders in their hope of finding a true bargain! . I can also recall a time when any glass items listed as Uranium Glass, would be refused entry to certain countries and the item was then subsequently destroyed. It is rumoured that paYpal confiscated loads of Uranium glass and issued refunds to the sellers... I am sure that we have all seen or sometimes found & won items without any attribution in their listing at all, and as collectors ourselves we like to find such items and have a punt that it 'may' be Ivory for example or solid silver perhaps!

In this case I agree. I think anybody with brains bidding would have done some research and already knows its Ivory. All his others are.
